On April 19, 2019, Standing NATO Maritime Group One ships from various countries, including a destroyer, four frigates and a tanker, entered the Port of Gdynia with a working visit.
The ships are capable of monitoring the navigation, controlling suspect units and blocking actions and evacuating the endangered population, and can be the base for marine infantry and special units performing tasks inland.
The team consists of the following ships: American destroyer USS Gravely, which is also the flagship unit, Polish frigate ORP Gen. K. Pułaski, Spanish frigate ESPS Almirante Juan De Borbon, Turkish frigate TCG Gokova, British frigate HMS Westminster and German tanker FGS Rhoen.
